YOUR CHOICE, MONASH OR YOUR MISHBOCHER?

 We at VAJEX know what a great Jewish General Sir John Monash was, but we don't know anything about any of your mishbocher (whole family) who served or are serving in the Australian Defence Force, or one of its allied Forces.

This is your opportunity to tell us about their service life. However, if you are unable to write about a relative, you can write about General Sir John Monash, GCMG KCB VD.

Your essay will stand the chance of being rewarded for your effort. Yes, rewarded. Not with a medal, but with $500 plus a biography of General Sir John Monash, signed by the author, Roland Perry. That's if you are judged the winner by:

There is also another award to be won; second will receive $200 plus a biography of Sir John Monash, signed by the author.

As well as the above awards, your essay may be published in PARADE, which is VAJEX's magazine, or on our website www.jewishmilitaryvic.org.au. We will also take the opportunity of forwarding it to the Jewish News for their consideration.

Write, in no more than the number or words in your age category, how and where they served. Tales of their heroics should be true. However, as we know that memory seems to expand the deed, a little bit of poetic licence will be accepted. Don't forget to mention their names, because if they are still living, we will be inviting them to your presentation.
